HBO has confirmed that The Last of Us‘s upcoming season will stream on Max and premiere on Sunday, April 13 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. There will be seven episodes in all. To commemorate the release date, the channel has also unveiled new character posters of Joel, Ellie, and Abby.
The Last of Us Season 2 will begin with Joel and Ellie living with Joel’s brother Tommy on their commune in Montana, five years after the events of the first season. Players should be aware of what is going to happen because the second game in the series, The Last of Us Part 2, will be adapted for the upcoming season.
Some new faces, such as Kaityln Dever as Abby, Isabela Merced as Dina, Young Mazine as Jesse, Ariela Barer as Mel, and Tati Gabrielle as Nora, will be joining Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie. In addition, Gabrielle will portray the lead character in Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, the upcoming game from Naughty Dog.

HBO’s initial season of The Last of Us was a huge success. The show, which was created by Craig Mazin of Chernobyl and Neil Druckmann, the head of Naughty Dog studio, was nominated for five Primetime Emmys, including Outstanding Drama Series, Lead Actor, Lead Actress, Outstanding Director, and Outstanding Writing. It also won multiple Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards.
HBO’s Francesca Orsi appears to have confirmed that The Last of Us will run for a total of four seasons, indicating the network’s excitement for additional episodes due to the popularity of the first season. Therefore, the entire game will not be adapted for this new season.
